What if you didn’t have to have it all figured out?
This past weekend, I had the joy of reconnecting with my college girlfriends in Savannah, GA. We spent hours laughing, being silly, and embracing the freedom of simply being ourselves. There was no pressure to impress, no expectations to meet—just pure, unfiltered connection.
One of the greatest gifts of our friendship is the unconditional acceptance we offer one another. It doesn’t matter what we’ve accomplished or what we’ve left undone; we are loved just as we are. This realization led me to a more personal reflection—why is it so much harder to extend that same grace to ourselves?
For years, I felt stuck when it came to being seen. I believed I had to have everything perfectly in place before I could take the next step. I thought success required certainty, order, and a well-mapped plan. But here’s what I’ve come to understand: there is no such thing as having it all figured out before you move forward.
So many successful entrepreneurs started without a clear roadmap. They didn’t have all the answers, but they took bold step after bold step, figuring things out along the way. Action, not perfection, is what propelled them forward.
And that weekend with my friends? It reminded me of something else just as important—how vital it is to have fun. I’ve often made things more serious than they needed to be, adding unnecessary pressure and expectations to the process. But joy, playfulness, and a willingness to experiment are just as crucial to growth as strategy and discipline.
Because here’s the truth: You can’t steer a ship that isn’t moving. Direction becomes clearer in motion. Clarity unfolds as you take steps—big or small—toward your goals. So instead of waiting for everything to feel “perfect,” start moving now. Trust that you will learn, adjust, and refine along the way.
Where in your life or business are you waiting until things feel "perfect" before moving forward? What’s one small, bold step you can take today?
Do something playful today—dance, doodle, laugh at yourself, or try something new just for fun. Release the pressure, embrace the moment, and allow joy to be part of the journey.
You’ve got this. 💛
Warmly,
Monica
