The Unexpected Key to Feeling
Worthy of Love

What if true self-love isn’t about fixing yourself—but about reconnecting?

Have you ever wondered what it truly means to love yourself? Not just in theory, but in a deep, unshakable way? I thought I had an idea—until last week at my meditation retreat, when an unexpected challenge showed me just how much I still struggle with feeling worthy of love.

You see, I set a goal for myself: to speak to five men during the retreat. Not because I was looking for validation, but because I wanted to push past my own discomfort. And I did it. I spoke with men of all ages, backgrounds, and energies. Some conversations flowed easily, while others were deeply uncomfortable—especially when I found someone particularly attractive. But through that discomfort, I uncovered something unexpected: there is still a part of me that doesn’t feel deserving of love.

I deeply desire a relationship where we truly meet each other, where we help each other grow. And yet, I realized something painful: while I sometimes dismiss certain men as not the right match, the kind of man I do want still feels just out of reach. As if, deep down, I’m not sure I truly deserve him.

Love as a Birthright

But isn’t love our birthright? Should we have to change, prove ourselves, or achieve something just to be worthy of love?

We’ve all heard it a million times: just love yourself, and everything else will fall into place. But how do we actually do that? How do we cultivate deep, unwavering self-love—not just as a concept, but as a felt experience?

At my meditation retreat, we spent hours connecting to Source, allowing that energy to flow through our bodies. And something magical happened. After each meditation, I felt a little lighter, a little more whole. I started to love myself more—not because I “fixed” anything, but because I remembered something I had forgotten.

The Shift: From Self-Improvement to Self-Connection

And that’s when it hit me: true self-love isn’t about self-improvement. It’s about connection.

When we feel separate from the divine, our egos rush in—filling us with doubts, self-judgment, and the belief that we are not enough. But when we reconnect to the Source within us, love becomes effortless. It’s not something we have to create; it’s something we simply remember.

So, I’m making a new commitment—to deepen my daily meditation practice. Not as a task, but as a way to tune in, to reconnect, to hold onto that divine spark within me. To let love flow through me, rather than chase it outside of myself.

And I invite you to join me.

Journaling Prompt:

Where in your life do you feel disconnected—from yourself, from love, from something greater? What practices or moments have helped you reconnect in the past?

Mini-Challenge:

Spend five minutes each day tuning into yourself—through meditation, deep breathing, journaling, or simply placing a hand on your heart and feeling your own presence. Notice how this small act shifts your relationship with yourself.

With love,

Monica
